Nanci Santomauro Slane trained as a jewelry designer at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York — and then spent fifteen years in finance at Citibank, making things by hand the whole way through. In 2023 she finally did the obvious thing: she left the corporate world to make beautiful objects full time, and Stitious Incorporated was born.

Today Nanci works from her studio in Southwest Florida, where every piece in the shop — every octopus, blanket, diaper cake, and canvas — is designed and made by her personally. Her jewelry training shows up everywhere: in the color choices, the finishing, and the stubborn refusal to let a piece leave until it is right.
